SAN ANTONIO — A Texas detective was shot and killed while writing a traffic ticket outside of police headquarters late Sunday morning. Later Sunday, two other officers were wounded in incidents in Florida and Missouri. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus identified the slain officer as 20-year veteran Detective Benjamin Marconi, 50. He said the suspect has not yet been apprehended, and a motive is not known. Authorities in Iowa have captured the suspected gunman in the ambush-style attacks early Wednesday morning that claimed the lives of two police officers who were sitting in their patrol cars. Officers arrested 46-year-old Scott Michael Greene without incident in Dallas County, west of Des Moines, police told Fox News.     LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  A Louisville police detective stopped to ask a man for directions for a late-night meal when both pedestrians were struck and killed by an alleged drunken driver in Lexington, Kentucky, authorities said. Detective Jason Schweitzer was visiting Lexington for a Fraternal Order of Police conference. His death early Saturday was announced on the Louisville Metro Police Department's Facebook page.
