One San Diego police officer was killed and another one wounded when a driver they stopped Thursday night opened fire on them in the latest in a series of cop shootings around the nation. The aim of the third annual rib eating contest Tuesday preludes Tip-A-Cop, a Corpus Christi Police Department event to raise money for Special Olympics South Texas. Tip-A-Cop will be Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse. Officers and firefighters will serve tea and water to patrons for tips.
